The warmth of the day gave way to dusk, The shadows crept upon the evening
He grew weary, legs stiff from many the endless miles; He considered idly, if she was tired as well
Choosing a place off the path, his emotions crept back to reality. He felt her watching as he ate
In the shadows, time is funny, He was unsure of how long he was sitting when his mind wandered
Some years ago, He thought it was that long, The world had been a little kinder in those days
He had yet to forget who he was, He was wrapped immensely in the heart's embrace
A younger Dreamer with dreams undreampt, passion still folded, misery unsighted
He remembers how it felt to feel wholly with his heart, the beat of its patter when all was right
He flushed back to the present, lest he revisit the destruction and despair of the fractured memory
The berries along the path did little to quench his hunger and thirst
Months it seemed since a good hunt, or stream for fishing
As he lay still peering in to the stars, he heard movement along the edge of the horizon
She was yet watching, but ever closing the distance to him, Approaching with great zeal
The footsteps slowed upon the ground, She stopped just before becoming visible
His heart fluttered missed a beat, for when he looked up her silhouette was present
To behold her presence against the backdrop of the moon was unnerving
Her body's shape gave the outline of sheer sexuality and divine beauty, Of her face he could not see
The dreamer heard her whispers dancing upon the wind, The words carried to his ears the sweetest sound
Not responding he only listened, as she spoke of herself, softly and indirect
Just as she finished words, she moved to the edge of the moon's lumen, breathing all but stopped
The most beautiful presence smiled down at him, His face broke silence and beamed back at her
He all but began to speak, yet he forgot the words, They caught in his throat has he fumbled for perfection
Waiting patiently for his word, she abruptly sat, The dreamer cleared his throat searching for a breath
As he spoke intently, she listened. He spoke long into the night, telling her all things of which he knew.....
