Faded Glass Along the Road

Moments fade in an instant, the memories they leave behind last a lifetime
For just a second is a breath upon the earth, that second could change everything
An endless stretch of highway strewn across the world, many eons before, were there cars
Empty hulls of lesser things, faded like shards of broken glass
Time makes them all finite, It blurs their once shiny hue
A young man walking the path of his life, not walking so young anymore
Time and torture have aged the endless one, his experience but gained
Believing in deliverance from above, He walks the walk of Faith
Not knowing where this barren road leads, only that it does
In the Glass he sees his face, weathered by the sands of Time
Yet but material, fleshly ideals, they mean nothing to the infinite soul
Beings were born free, yet chained by Earthly Sin
Walking a foot in the depth of mortal tears, without their God they have their fears
These things the dreamer visits, as he ignores the path he walks
Time flows by making him older still, He knows not that it is time to stop this night
Only the picture in the faded glass, What he saw in the dying light.......ED
