The Silent Moon

The moon watches all things in the night, its glow casts over the complete time of Earth
It neither judges, nor intercedes, just silently observes the events of history
Late this night, the Lunar glow observed the Dreamer and his new companion
It was obvious a communion had evolved, one sparked by intrigue
Wrapped up in the pure emotion of two hearts restlessly carried on evening's wind
The Moon is silent in it's gaze, and the dreamer barely notices the celestial body
Long ago he traveled by the light of the Moon, but never contemplated the records it kept
He assumed the Man in the Clouds he met, must live near there or perhaps even upon its milky surface
Yet, as the new lovers embraced under the luminescence of yonder moon, the light captured all
Another chapter to the story of the dreamer, another path altered by decisions made
That night she slept next to him. Both clothed from the weather, he held her head to his chest
The sleep they received was more restful than the dreamer had remembered in some time
The girl slept silently without dream, and lines in her face from life's misfortunes, seemed to soften
The morning would hold new questions, but they would not come from the Orbital Moon
It would be gone by then without a trace, as if it had not been there at all....
